John Tobias Musser, MD, FAAPMR is a board-certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) with subspecialty fellowship training in Interventional Pain Management. He has been practicing interventional pain medicine for the past 10 years, specializing in image-guided musculoskeletal and spine injections to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of common and complex painful musculoskeletal conditions. As a leading interventional orthopaedic and pain management physician in the Greater Atlanta region, Dr. Musser is also specialty-trained in orthopaedic regenerative medicine treatments and is one of only a few providers in Georgia with added qualifications and training through the Interventional Orthopedic Foundation.

Dr. Musser earned his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia and completed his residency in PM&R at Emory University. He then completed a fellowship in Interventional Pain Management at the prestigious Shepherd Center – Shepherd Spine and Pain Institute – in Atlanta. Before joining ROSI, he has served as an Attending Physician, practicing pain medicine, at the Shepherd Center since 2009.

Dr. Musser is an expert in the implantation of devices that help patients manage their pain, including spinal cord stimulators and peripheral nerve stimulators - being the first physician in Georgia to implant an FDA-approved peripheral nerve stimulator. In addition to his training and experience in conventional treatments, he has extensive knowledge of alternative pain management techniques. He is textbook and medical journal published, and continues to contribute to the field of interventional pain medicine. He has traveled nationally and internationally to train other pain management physicians.
